This website helps transgender people who are homeless or about to become homeless to find kind-hearted people willing to give them a place to stay for as short as one night or as long as it works for both of them.
The goal is to break the vicious cycle of homelessness: being homeless tends to create new problems that contribute to keeping a person homeless. The approach known as "Housing First" provides housing before addressing all the root causes of homelessness, the idea being that a stable living situation makes it easier for a person to begin addressing those issues.
This website is for transgender adults (age 18+) living in the U.S.A. We refer to those seeking a place to stay as "guests", and those offering a place to stay as "hosts". Hosts are not required to be transgender. Both guests and hosts fill out a profile/questionnaire so that other users can learn about them and their living situation, and so you can search for people meeting the criteria you require.
We encourage users to post a "Getting to know me" introductory video on their favorite social media site (Instagram, TikTok). You will need to decide for yourself if you want others to see your "real" social media account (better to get to know you) or whether you want to create a separate one for this site (more private).
Guests can browse the profiles of hosts, and when they find one they think might work, they can place a "Request" through the site. The host will see the Request and decide whether to make an "Offer" of a place to stay. At any point during this process, guests and hosts can direct-message each other through the site to evaluate each other.
Similarly, hosts can browse the profiles of guests, and when they find one they think might work, they can make an "Offer" of a place to stay. A host can make multiple simultaneous Offers, because not all Offers will be accepted.
You are responsible for your own safety. This site does not and cannot vouch for the safety (or even compatibility) of any guest or host.
Once a host makes an Offer that is accepted, or a guest makes a Request that is accepted, the profiles of both the guest and host will be marked as no longer "Looking" and the guest moves in with the host (Yay!). When the stay is over, or nearly over, the guest will mark their profile as "Looking for a host" and start looking for a new host. Similarly, a host can mark their profile as "Looking for a guest" once they know a vacancy will be opening up.
This site is designed for altruistic offers of a free place to stay. However, we do not forbid arrangements where a guest chips in for rent. It is illegal in the U.S.A. to ask for or offer sex in exchange for lodging, and we reserve the right to permanently ban you from this site for doing so.
